Privacy

Recognition runs on device. Nothing leaves your Mac.

MacID unlocks as soon as it sees you with your eyes open, so a good photo of your face could unlock it too. Turn on Require a blink in the app to stop that. This is a webcam, not an infrared depth sensor: treat it as a convenience over typing, not an upgrade over your password. If anything fails, you get the normal password prompt.
